COURSE REFLECTION

We are in May 2020 and its been approximately 3 months since the novel corona-virus has appeared on the shores of my little island sweet Trinidad. Now to me this virus was like watching a terminally ill patient,( you know they are dying but yet still when it happened you're shocked), we know the virus has  been out there for a couple months and when it hit our shores we were still in awe. Back tracking to March 13, 2020 I was on my way home from classes at the University of the Southern Caribbean at Maracas, St.Joseph when the announcer on the radio said the Ministry of Health had a live conference at the top of the hour. My heart sank because I knew what was going to be said.
My little nation was thrown into panic mode, my school was switched to online classes. Our lecturer wasn't even aware she had a class so we started 2 weeks late. This being a new course and also a new situation was just as frustrating as could be for me, I was at the end of hope when I saw the course outline and all the designs it entailed. My mind was heavy towards starting because of not having a vast knowledge of the online technology. I am not a quitter I kept telling myself and with that problem out of the way  I delved in with full force.
Creating my first blog, participating in the group projects, doing the graphics and simply learning to navigate around the computer was a lot more easy than I thought it would be. The lecturer whom we have never seen not even a picture of, was there for every class to give instructions and pointers help us along the course. Even when we seemed lost there were videos sent to reinforce what was thought. Imagine me doing work on excel, creating  a power point project, working on a newsletter- all those things I only heard about - never dreamed of coming into contact with. My group was a blessing to work with , they helped me along where my knowledge fell short of the computer - thank you guys for all the support.
To my lecturer even though we seemed to be a lot at times, the after hours the repeat questions  thank you for being there at whatever time we messaged. We were happy for you joining our class chat and helping ease some of our stress for this was the class with the most amount of assignments in the shortest time frame. All in all the time frame help to show how little time we have to accomplish so many things, because technology is evolving everyday by the time we are out in the work force what we learn here may very well be updated to something else.
Knowledge is power so guys lets  keep learning and expanding our databases and together we can be the new batch of best nurses and help turn this country healthcare system for the better.
GOOD LUCK GUYS AIM HIGH!     thanks miss
